Boys 2 Men

Lydia Cacho in interview
(courageous Mexican journalist exposing drug cartel corruption & organized pedaphilia)
re teenage boys & young men:
They don't know what the heck is going on. They're supposed to be caring, sensitive even sweet, but they're also expected to be machines who will have sex with lots of girls and if they question that abuse, they're not real men. Their emotional crisis is our social crisis.
She's talking about Mexican fellas primarily but this dichotomous ideal for young males seems pretty widespread.
I wonder sometimes whether some just give up on relationships with "crazy" women and go gay for lack of complication.
The issue can be sidetracked by talking about girls' attitudes but essentially its about how males internalize the world & behave accordingly.
The best adjusted young guys I know seem to attract girls who appreciate their having found a balance.
hhaaha
you bunch of wimps
still trying to impress femmes or fucking twinks
sad
sorry guys
^ that's way too macho and provocative
to induce comment on how you've adjusted to the modern demands of masculinity
of course you're not wimps
you're more likely intimidated from offer an honest opinion,
knowing that you can never express your concerns without sounding equivocal & uncertain
and overly sensitive to what females think about you.
I mean, fuck em yeah?
well, with permission
and preferably with some mutual attraction
maybe even a little love & understanding
but shit
so many hurdles
so much negotiation
& cutting thru to mutual needs
fun, enjoyment, friendship, support, trust, acceptance...
man, any of us who survive the process have won the lottery.
Which necessitates having a ticket.
the ticket
symbolizes both optimism and the irrepressible male proclivity for risk-taking
