yes just clocked the audio on boomkitty.
I'm completely out of touch with the d&b scene at the moment but I'd be really interested to know how these tunes are bein received. Is this stuff marginal or is it gettin rinsed by the big names?

Marginal like you wouldn't believe.
That sort of 'leftfield' dnb (not really very impressed with that term), is a smaller scene than Dubstep these days. http://subvertcentral.com/ has pretty much all you need to know about the whole thing.

Been into that drumfunk sound for aaaages now, s'all that really gets me going in the jungle scene now. Well that and ragga and breakcore but I don't really follow either of them anymore. It's fringe, sure, but it's accepted and respected as the experimental side of dnb by all but the lamest bottom feeders in the scene, Paradox being the subgenre's spiritual leader, though I always preferred Source Direct.
New Fanu album 'Daylightless' on his own label is well worth your attention.

re: the darkestral tunes - this is the list of dnb djs who are supporting the tracks on darkestral 002;
fabio/grooverider/hype/klute/d bridge/commix/london elektricity/shy fx/commix/breakage/marcus intalex/craggz & parallel forces/bailey/flight/a.i./doc scott/storm/loxy/ink/dj lee/digital/john b/martyn/marky/sabre/goldie and so on
not, as you can see, all 'leftfield', in some cases far from it ..
all the above have been heard to play the tracks, maybe this is the door becoming ajar for deeper vibes again ...

nice to hear that. its gonna take a lot of work/time to reverse some of the damage imo. i just cant imagine some of the crowds at the last few drum & bass nights i was at getting so much into the deeper stuff. i think that maybe one of the problems is that the crowds changed, or maybe its just me gettin old.martian.dialekt wrote:re: the darkestral tunes - this is the list of dnb djs who are supporting the tracks on darkestral 002;
