I think I do, get this mega high pitched ringing like a sine wave or something "Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
Only get it every now and then, does it get worse even if you do not listen to much loud music any more? Don't wanna be like thingy in It's All Gone Pete Tong, although he got quite a fit bird at the so it's not all bad.

I've got it. its not as bad as it could be. i only really notice it after a rave or when ive had the headphones on for a bit. its scary. about a year ago I bought myself some plugs though i found them hard to get used to and end up takin them out a lot of the time. stupid really cause if lost my hearin it would be like i was only half alive or somethin.

plus, earplug-style earphones (i get the etymotice er6i, but shure etc do em now too)
for those who dont have tinnitus over the years the rumble of trains etc when getting about will degrade your hearing - so block it out

i think i do, but the ringing is intermittant. it also happens when i slam a door or drop a saucepan or hear any sharp, loud noise

no
the point of in-ear phones means you dont have to play the music loud to get the desired clarity of sound!
as the frequencies are not being interfered with by cars passing etc you can save your hearing by playing the music much lower and still being able to hear and enjoy the music in its full spectrum

I thought I had it and got really scared, but it turned out that the PSU on my computer's started making an almost inaudible whining noise.

got it a bit but went to an ENT consultant and he said its nothing to worry about yet. apparantly loads of people have ringing that lasts for about 60 seconds and fades away and its normal
everyone should protect their ears tho. even if you dont have tinnitus, you really wouldnt want it. i got some elacin el-25s for only just over a tenner and they cut out all the bad sound and you can still hear people talking to you, highly recommended if you dont want to spend a fortune on high up plugs

I got this. It sucks ballbags. After playing in rotterdam i lost my hearing in my right ear for about a week. I was shitting my pants thinking that this was it, no more producing etc. Thankfully it came back but that was definatly a warning if ever there was one.
Remember the hairs in your ears are like a cornfield, once they get blown over they don't get back up = hearing loss. Still having a constant ringing when i lie in bed at night. I have to put cd's of nature sounds on to get to sleep
Get earplugs, i'm saving for the molded ones but using desposable one as a stop gap. It always takes a minute to get used to them at gigs but actually makes them more enjoyable as you can hear whats going on.

had tinnitus since 2003, spent a few weeks preparing tracks on headphones and fucked them up badly.
Professional earplugs are expensive but 100% worth it...
I think you got a case of "headphone ear", reso

i had/have it. it comes and goes. a visit to the dentist confirmed that i had been majorly grinding my teeth which was causing soreness in my jaw near my ear and therefore some ringing. i got a nightguard to wear to stop the grinding and the ringing has really subsided.
i did wear earplugs all night this past weekend for the first time and the experience was amazing. i could feel the bass w/ none of the shrillness from it being too loud.

if i do, it's really subtle, and i have to listen for it to hear it. I try to take good care of my ears, and even when i play out, i never turn up the headphones too loud. When i played out in the past, i'd go on after these DJs and the headphone mix would be SO LOUD, that it was ridiculous. I actually mix stuff better if the track im cueing is quiet, which is strange.
its like theres this masculinity involved in djing where the louder your headphones are, the more of a man you are or something.. whatever though, their just stupid!
i do want to get some of those expensive earplugs that just cut the volume by like 10dB and dont actually filter out the frequencies. those kick ass.

my pair etymotic er6i cost 130 and replaced my £15 headphones when i was commuting. Probably the best purchase i've ever made
now i drive and have a pair of earplugs just to cut road noise and allow me to hear whats on the radio
