This is all kinds of fascinating. Kids love watching things over and over (and over) again. It appears that the ownership model of previous generations seriously undercut the amount of money that could be made. As a kid, I’d watch some movies dozens of time. But I always owned the VHS tape, so the company made a fixed amount.

my daughter has found this channel in youtube links. she's obsessed with it. we've tried reasoning with her 'but whats the point? its not a cartoon its just some 30 something woman opening toys'. she doesn't care, she now wishes we were rich so she could open all those toys. she's 4
she's well looked after and has more toys than we can house but disney are onto something there. the opening of toys in first person perspective is a vicarious christmas morning to all children that click on the vid.
