toronto's 'dubstep basics' ~ mini-review

Post by night deposit » Sat Apr 22, 2006 6:25 am

just a quick note on the 'dubstep basic' night here in toronto...
didnt see all the djs, mainly went to hear sek and FINALLY catch some of the tunes on a proper rig, well, as close to proper as possible...
when i walked in sek and his lady were finishing a bite to eat, could hear
'midnight request line' starting up downstairs.
went down to where the sound was and yes, that tune sounds baaaaad, people definitely feeling it.
wasnt feeling the the tunes after that, werent dubstep, some kind of organic sounding house-ness, then sek took over...
all i can say is that he played all killers, no filler and it was definitely the skream tunes that were sounding SO good. 'rottan', big.
cant forget dmz, 'anti war dub' was killing it !!! people really like that tune... there were a few key pull-ups, cant remember the tunes off the top of my head, but they were worthy.
too tired for the rest of it, but good to reach that and connect with the sound...
big up sek! niceness a gwan in the t-dot this summer!
