Help with a particular sound

Hey guys,

I have a specific growl that i'm trying to replicate [that metallic growl]. Now, Is this growl achievable with FM8 or Massive? I'm pretty sure this particular sound is the product of an FM synth, but I'm not really sure.

Interesting I think you can achieve it with massive but you'll need some post processing with vocoders and vowel filters (probably some resampling). Difficult to say. I'll do some attempts and let you know.

the base of the sound seems to be a saw wave distorded, to get the filter effect I think the double notch is a good one, with WOW and the adequat vowel it might be sort of good. I can't try right now, maybe I'm all wrong ^^

Yeah I'd say a similar bass would be possible in massive with double notch filter + heavy saturation/distortion and vowel EQ.

thats a sample pack by dan larson lol, just watch his tutorials on youtube or buy the sample pack and you'll get the exact sound

Holy shit you're right! I demoed one of the samples in the Monster bass pack and it was the EXACT sound and loop lol. Still, it would be good to get it myself out of my synthesisers instead of resorting to samples >-< I'll look through his tutorials and see what i can do from there.
