BOSTON 11/23 - SHRIIIMP - Graffiti+Naked Ladies+Dubstep!!!

If you aint down with Shriiimp come learn yourself something. A couple dozen extremely beautiful women getting tagged(as in with markers and paint) by a couple dozen extremely talented Graf artists. All set in a backdrop of one the hypest parties Boston has to offer. Dubwise hiphop infused rasta futurism provided by those upstanding young gentlemen at Soundbox Presents. If you were at the last Shriiimp party in Boston (or any of the many around the world)then you know it's going to be pure debauchery... in a good way.
Big up the half-naked chicas massive.

well, it definately blurs the line i'll give you that. though i find it difficult to rally against an event where women volunteer to be objectified.

or were you referring to the comment made by bogler?

both. i could launch into a rant about how women don't NEED to volunteer to be objectified because we are taught to do it from the getgo. or i could talk about how things are setup so there's some sort of weird money/ego/strange psychological payoff for women who let themselves be objectified, but that system was not set up by us, so one needs to question what it means to "objectify oneself"...
but i just woke up, and the pizza place delivered caffeine free mountain dew to me last night, so i am still out of it.
plus i have ranted about this shit before, and until someone walks a mile in a woman's shoes, they refuse to acknowledge the truth of it. so it usually just ends up with me frustrated.
as for graffitti...try a canvas next time. this COULD actually have been artistically interesting if it wasn't hyped as "NAKED CHIX!!!"
end ramble.

I apologize. My intentions when I agreed to play this party was to expose Dubstep to a wider audience in a town where it is quite frankly fucking impossible to get anyone to listen to anything that isn't top 40 hip hop or whiny emo/indy rock. This party is going to have a HUGE turnout and yes that is at least partly because there is going to be half naked women modeling at the show.
For the record, the objectification of women or for that matter any living thing is wrong but so is exploiting the addictive tendencies of alcoholics and I can guarantee that for every 1 model at this party there is going to be 5 people in the crowd feeding their addiction. My point is that every party I have ever played at has had some morally reprehensible component to it, even the ones dedicated to righteous charities. It's the nature of the beast.
In a perfect world every party would have 1,000 happy, well adjusted people dancing and respecting each others without various social crutches like alcohol and clothing. But until we discover that planet I am going to keep DJing parties here on Earth.
Also you are right about the fact that no man could possibly understand a woman's experience of the human condition but it cuts both ways. You could never understand what it's like to be born addicted to sex, which 99% of men are. I literally think about sex every 3 seconds or so and that has less to do with what i was taught than you think. I was raised by liberal, progressive thinking and single woman. Everything I learned about being a man, I learned from a woman.
I have plenty more to say but this took me about 1 and 1/2 hours to think/type out and the ADHD is taking over so i'll end this now before my rant gets even more fractured and tangental.
p.s. I said "ladies" not "chix" and how does nudity invalidate artistic integrity. Art is objectification. Aaaaah I'm still ranting!!!
