Drop The Lime -
Ok, we dont say this lightly, but its true so you need to hear it.
Drop The Lime is THE most exciting producer and live act on Earth right now, sounding like the bastard son of Jamie Lidell + Exile, with Squarepusher demanding a D.N.A test.
Born and Raised in New York City, Drop The Lime (L., Venezia), continues his global rise in the underground Dance music scene. Ever evolving in style and ahead of the game, expect four to the floor bangers spiked with Grime and growling bass Techno, while he drops jaws to the floor with his bad boy Sinatra vocals. Venezia grew up in New York City's underground rave scene, drawn to the high energy of Jungle and Drum & Bass. He began performing under the alias Drop The Lime in 2003, exploding into the punk electronic scene known as Break-core, gaining an underground iconic status. DTL released numerous International singles and EP's on high profile labels like Ambush, Peace Off, Broklyn Beats, Mirex, and his infamous 2005 debut, "This Means Forever," on Tigerbeat6. From Break-core's hyper-kinetic beats and DJ'ing heavy bass music from Grime to Baltimore Club and 4x4, DTL took a floor shattering step into a club massive sound. Responsible for throwing the infamous Bangers & Mash Grime parties with Shadetek in New York City, DTL has helped introduce the UK Grime and Dubstep sound to US audiences by incorporating it with the familiar sounds of Hip Hop and House. He has thrown down unforgettable live and DJ sets at Cut Crew's Dirty Down, Dub War, Konkrete Jungle, Soundlab raves, and a number of epic Rothko events in Manhattan. "Shotgun Wedding Vol. 4," his latest DJ mix CD, w/ Syrup Girls, powerfully captured the rising sound of underground bass music in 2006. His New Album, "We Never Sleep" masterfully incorporates hard hitting club tracks with the seductive quality of his voice and lyrics.
Venezia's energetic live performances and vicious DJ sets have captivated audiences and artists worldwide with their innovative sound. Under the moniker Drop The Lime, he has toured and performed with renowned artists such as, Kid606, DJ / Rupture, Knifehandchop, Rotator, Sickboy, DJ Scud, Shadetek, Jammer, Skepta,Vex'd, The Plastician, Dizzee Rascal, Digital Mysitcz, Plaid, and Cylob. DTL has cut up remixes for a diversity of artists, including Bong Ra, End, Mathhead, Ra-X, Chris Glover,Atki2, Mochipet, Alan Astor, Kid606, and more. His music has inspired remixes by artists including, Gold Chains, Soft Pink Truth, Kid606, Starkey, Rotator, Original Hamster, Shadetek, Eats Tapes, Jason Forrest, and Duran Duran Duran. DTL has also performed at highly acclaimed festivals such as Barcelona's Sonar, Austin's South by Southwest, Belgium's WOOD, New York's CMJ, Caen's Nordik Impact, and Amsterdam's Sonic Acts. DTL has had major airplay on BBC Radio1's Breezeblock, hosted by Mary Anne Hobbs, RinseFM, Resonance FM, and numerous shows on New York City's WFMU, just to name a few. Drop The Lime reminds us all that Electronic music can make you fall in love with the mystery of an artist's soul... and still want to dance your ass off in the club.
The last time Luca played for us was last October when his set was broadcast Live on Radio 1 as part of John Peel Day, so many people who saw his set commented that it was one of the best sets theyd ever seen its unreal, with even Mary Anne Hobbs declaring on The Breezeblock 4 days later that 'By the end of his set I wanted to marry him'...high praise indeed! Seriously, if you even have a passing interest in dance music, you need to be here!

Mathhead -
Mathhead is 23 year old Ben Deitz, born in the Bronx in 1982, he made his first forays into music production when he found a broken 808 in the trash. It was not until he moved to Manhattan, where he was mentored by a former member of Snap! and met Afrika Bambaata, that he began making music in earnest, first experimenting with Electronica and Breakcore riddims, before recently embarking on some Dubstep + Breaks adventures. He has several releases planned for this year on such labels as Peaceoff, Hotflush, Terminal Dusk, and the Consumers Label. His recent forays into dubstep have been caned by the likes of Vex'd, Search & Destroy, Paul Rose of Hotflush recordings and Appleblim of SKull Disco records. He brings his amazing Live show to the North of England for the very first time, a live show that needs to be witnessed!

Shackleton/Appleblim + Necta Selecta (Skull Disco Crew) -
In the newly exploding Dubstep scene, one label sticks out in our eyes as being one of the freshest sounding labels you could ever hope for, the amazing Skull Disco. About to release only their 3rd release, the stir they have made in the Dubstep scene is second to none, with their crisp sounding productions sounding like no one else around.
On Skull 001 Shackleton delivered a stoned to the bone, hazy ethnic shuffler which develops from thunder FX and eerie strings into a conga led, bass swamped semi-skanker. On the flip, Appleblim followed a similar route down the same grimy alley, this time opting for a more typical kick/skewed snare dubstep vibe, ramping the bass up for a growling and crushing effect. Strange but true bassbin business! On Skull 002 the crew get them bones shaking with some low end styles of the highest order.
Shackleton comes in from the far leftside with 'Majestic Visions', a truly original composition, combining dramatic Turkish pipes, steppin middle eastern flavoured percussion and awesome sub bass into a genius slice of dubsteppin weaponry. On the flip Appleblim kept things dutty with two electro flavoured half steppers with cavernous bass weight sound constructions designed to test on the biggest and baddest rigs. Caned by them what know at raves such as DMZ, Subloaded and Ploy, and everyone from Kode 9 to Radio 1's Rob Da Bank, this was completely essential!
Onto Skull 003, and spanning the whole of the a-side, Shackletons “Blood on My hands” kicks off with the willful presets one might associate with another genre altogether, late night Detroit lounge business or even the midnight chimes of some kind of mutant R&B - that’s before the bassline drops. Keeping the mood decidedly blue, the bassline is just impossibly deep, a padded bottom-end sub-sub-SUB that seems to re-draw battle lines, every now and again throwing a massively delayed snare into the mix for maximum, deep skanking. The Skull Disco's crew Dj sets are a wonder to behold as well, when they last played Jasbof in March they treated us to a full on 2 hour assault of Dubstep, Breaks, Grime, Reggae and so much more. We enjoyed their sets so much that we had to ask them back as soon as possible, trust us, you NEED to see these guys!
