So I'm not sure if I've posted about Ableton or not, but I'm using it very heavily lately... I don't get as much satisfaction from DJing as I do producing, and I don't get as much from producing as I do from getting that INSTANT gratification of Live PA. It's like you INSTANTLY see whether the crowd is feeling this track you are making right in front of their face... there's a danger element there--they love it or hate it... you fail or succeed right there in front of the crowd. Well a long while back, I came across Ableton as a means to the end I was trying to get at... I can't really be assed to travel with all my hardware to a show, or risk the damage, etc... so I loaded up the best PC laptop(sorry, I hate Mac... lets not get into that discussion) with the best processor, fastest HD, best and most RAM I could get, purchased Ableton and loaded up on every free or cheap VSTi I could get... grabbed the sweetest controller, sweetest effects, etc...

but something was missing... then I came across this, and I realized what my new dream item I will never afford is going to be... next to Rane, I will ONLY use an Allen and Heath Xone(in my home and studio... I realize that you get what you get in a club)... I generally prefer rotary for PA steeze, but I can get down with some faders like no other as well... but I have found that rotary are what I'm loving best--then this comes along... bow your heads, and pretend to be serious:
