PLATFORM 1.. would people be up for paying £4 instead of £3?

We wanted to keep it free but cost of flyers and venure hire meant we initially charged £3 with the intention that all profits getting split evenly between artists. But basically we are either breaking even at the busiest ones and losing money the rest of the time and never have anything to give the artists!
Obviously want to keep it going, but as its non-profit, each time we lose cash theres no prospect of ever recouping it so the only way we think it will work for the near future is putting it up from £3 to £4. Then at least if its busy the djs get some money and if its quiet we lose less!
Gonna try and apply for a grant from the government as well but that could take a while.
What do people reckon anyway? Any ideas?

line-ups that sick for £3 is unbelievable, I never understood how you could do it. Always such a top night. I'd easy pay another quid to get in, but I'm a little older than most of the chaps on here so may have a bit more cash to flash, as it were, than the student massive. So I can't speak for other folk but it wouldn't bother me.
In a slight aside, I have to say that on the whole the cost of entry into dubstep events is pretty much on point from a customer point of view. My flatmates pay £15 to get into Turnmills or Fabric regularly so £5 for a night like House Party 3 on Saturday is bloody aces and £3 for Platform One is killer!

Anything under a fiver still seems outrageously cheap to me.
You pay more than that to get into some shit student cheese club in Glasgow on a Friday night and, well, once you get in there its shit student cheese...
Well done for sticking to your guns!

my attendance has been shockingly poor of late, but i definitely agree that £4 is still amazing value
