For discussing the sick comedy podcast comedy bang bang.

IMO this is a sick episode I don't see people talking about too much:

http://www.earwolf.com/episode/fieri-fight/

Sadly no YT clips of it

The one where they had the boss of American apparel on was also hilarious. OFC Paul F Tompkins is often on point as well.

paul f tompkins characters are getting annoying tho
5+ eps & they get really stale (i thought the wedding episode was really terrible)

also i love that tim/jon daly ep & tbh any episode w/ jon daly is a 5/5 especially the episode from early on w/ todd glass, pft & him where he does the bill cosby

This thread is just going to be us four quoting shit right :) Everything with Lapkus or
Adomian is great. Same goes for Adam Scott.

I'm not sure how I feel about Kid Cudi taking over for Reggie. I haven't seen him on the show
yet though. TV show that is.. I assume Reggie will keep coming to the studio for
the intro of the podcast?

I dont like like the tv show if im 100

It's just too nicey nice and too short to get anywhere as absurd and different from anyhing else as the podcast does, which I think is the strong point.

I dont remember who said it, maybe it was Moshe Kasher off the champs but it's interesting how the most defining recently emerging types of new media is either super short vines or super long podcast convos. But it's an interesting point.

Definitely agree that the TV show can get a little too nice sometimes but a lot is still proper entertaining, especially when you feel that the guests and Scott are really vibing. I do think the time restraints are a huge factor tho.

I'm a bit of a late comer to the podcast but those get proper absurd sometimes which is awesome. The episode with Kroll and Mulaney a few weeks back was great.

Also, what do people think of Ben Schwartz? At first I thought he was really funny but it's starting to dawn on me that he might actually be the same in real life as his Parks and Rec character - every role he plays he's just sort of loud and obnoxious (which can still be funny in moderate amounts)

yeah agreed.. he doesn't seem able to pull his guard down but then again he's a pretty good specific type of actor and I guess it goes with the territory.
He's on that house of lies show, that has it's moments but revolves around a very basic/shallow idea of what the cooperate world is in the same way entourage revolves around an idea of a career in film. Good cast though. There are some similarities with silicon valley aswell.

Ben Schwartz is very funny but just a tad obnoxious yea

But imo obnoxious in a good way, he buts in but its usually to either keep a bit going or say something hilarious

Some of the best eps are the ones w him and Horatio

also in my unpopular opinion marrisa wompler is by far the worst character on the show

Jessica StClair buts in way more than anyone and she is loud and obnoxious and straight up unfunny

I really dont understand why ppl like her/that character lauren lapkus saves half her episodes to make them even worth listening to (& even the lapkus character is annoying & played out)

I get what you are saying. I like her and Lennon Parnhams tv show though, just like i love garfunkel and oates tv show who i generally try to avoid in podcasts but yeah she's a bit much on a podcast. She's great as an unbearable 'moron' type imo .

I feel like lapkus is 'growing up'/developing or whatever and that is what we are seeing-- the characters are a little samey but the pov is quite unique. It's polly difficult to balance trying to make naughty funny and lapkus manages it sometimes whereas sct clair rarely does.
