Watchmen

I must say, I'm impressed by these stills.

It looks like they're finally doing something right. Amazing attention to detail, and no evidence of any attempt to fuck things up by making it 'extreme' for the idiot masses. It feels just right so far, but these are just stills.

Fingers crossed...

Oh, arse! 300 was a bunch of bollocks. Too Green screeny. You can't get lost in a movie like that.

I'm salty because everything is a bunch of stupid shit. We're in deep cultural decline and most people haven't even noticed.

You're right. Things is fine.

Let's hit the McDonald's drivethru, then go home and watch some Springer, play some EA games on the X Box and listen to some corporate rock.

Yeah man! That's the real deal right there. I'm glad all these bands understand how we feel and sing about stuff that phases us, ya know?

I expected it to be bad, but not a bunch of blokes poncing around in front of obvious green screen sets bad. I want big, real sets, not cack CG.

But, like I say, Watchmen looks like they're taking their time to do things properly.

But, having said that, they'll probably make Rorschach a ninja cyborg hacker from the future who rides a rocket motorcycle or something, just to appease the drooling thickos out there.

Wah.

but you had to have seen trailers or myspace ads or any one of the many forms of the promotion onslaught. you couldn't have been that taken aback by the cg.

ooh watchmen film, looks good. was rereading the comic recently but havent finished it, will get back to it

and as for 300 i thought it was good but yeah i get your point about the green screening. and i didnt see it in the cinema so might not have fully 'got' it. saw it on my mates tv which had all the colour settings wrong, didnt realise til it was over and we were watching tv. just thought that was how it was shot, all dark and gloomy etc

Will they be able to film a Alan Moore graphic novel without destroying it though? For instance League of Extraordinary Gents.

On a related note the 3rd installment of that is out now, but it looks like you have to order it from america.

I am very nervous about this film.

300 was very very shit - it actually made me angry.

The cast for Watchmen looks worrying.

I am afraid he is going to fuck it up very badly.

Alan Moore is God. I also like Peter Ackroyd a lot, I've always felt he's like the fat, hard drinking, cigar smoking, homosexual version of Alan Moore for the older generation.... anyone?

I hope the movie retains some of the ANTI-superhero themes that were the original impulse for the comic, rather than it being just another superhero movie with Rorschach being a straight up cool dude n shit. Who's directing anyway?

I'm still waiting for Lost Girls to come out in the UK, not long now:

The watchmen film, well..hmmm...lets see how it turns out.

300...well...what you see is what you got with that and it was a near exact representation of the comic book, hack and slash all the way(obviously except for the sub plot involving the queen that was written by Frank Millar specifically for the film)

300 was o...k...but Sin City still stands as, imho, one of the best comic book adaptions to date, the film totally mirrored the novels in every way, the cast was spot on and the whole vibe of the film was excellent.

Looking forward to Sin City 2.
