I can swap my old Mission speakers for your Mackie's. It's no bother, no need to thank me.

I can't think of any powered alternatives to those cubes or the Yammy Yamaha NS10s.

I'd go and ask over at Gearslutz...

/edit, actually, they're bringing out some powered cubes soon:

I'd buy these as the B pair to my A Dynaudios in a heartbeat if they sound as shite as the originals.

HS50Ms innit. They sound quite nice though, not really like NS10s.

I love my NS10's

I literally would sex it , if it didnt involve fucking up the box.

yeah, Vonboyage, et al. im looking for monitors that sound real but generally not real good. reference monitors rather than mixing monitors. yr ns10's - are they good as a reference?

thx.

Industry standard man, if it sounds good on the NS10's then it will sound good anywhere. Exactly what you're looking for, but not powered I think

They're good though. I can recommend. If you need more bass go for the HS80Ms. They actually sound nice, not the brittle cardboard vibe of NS10s.

from avantelectronics:
They are shipping in apx 2 weeks to us (ocean journey)
upon arrival & customs clearance we will then proceed to get them out to all our dealers & international distributors... so January is when you can actually order a pair from a dealer. They will sound the same as the passives.

(no word on price)

good question. thinking about an ipod docking station or something. i guess because it will color the sound in a specific way, rather than sounds bad in a good way. certain systems are known to sound bad in a reliable and across-the-board way, as i understand it.
