Why?

It just doesn't seem to make any sense - why wouldn't you offer a higher quality, uncompressed format?

I would say bandwidth would be the most obvious reason.

But maybe I'm just a fool.

might as well get FLAC really, wav files are huge.

I dont think bandwidth is the issue, when other labels on the same sites (boomkat, bleep, juno) offer MP3, FLAC or WAV.

I wished more labels would release digital regardless of the format. Do any of the vinyl controller systems support FLAC/WAV?

Yeh i think its silly to not offer FLAC or Wav, i mean there one and the same really though, be very pushed to tell th difference....

innit just. i really want anti war dub on vinyl or wav/320 but if they don't want me to buy them, i'll rob them instead.
dmz could make big money if they repressed all their old tunes or made digital releases available. why don't they sort it out?

yeh it is a shame. I'd much rarther support the label but were not given the option

I wonder if the very fact that a labels' tracks have been made available to buy digitally means that it's then suddenly more readily available on p2p? Genuine question, i'm intrigued...

By the way, Half the DMZ catalogue is available digitally on Bleep.com, that's how i finally got me mits on dmz001.

I think it'll take time for some labels/people to really embrace and get their heads round the digital marketplace. For some it may not be something they embrace personally, being involved in a predominantly dubplate orientated scene (don't forget this!) for example.
And perhaps for some only releasing vinyl is a way for them to feel as though they are keeping vinyl alive, keeping it moving.

I for one hope the two formats can live happily alongside each other.....and i too hope that soon enough you will see all label's releasing promo's on vinyl, with four weeks later the full release version of the vinyl and a digital release to coincide. This is the way to go i think.

i really want anti war dub on vinyl or wav/320 but if they don't want me to buy them, i'll rob them instead.

thats fine, they are keeping it alive and there plenty of poeple buying it, long live vinyl! dont see how this could effect anything to do woth digital distro though? NOT ALL DUBSTEP FANS ARE DJ'S.

I only ever use FLAC/WAV now,as once you start time-stretching in Live (even if it's only 138 to 140BPM) you can notice it way more when using a 320.

Same with Deep Medi, has not been updated on bleep.com. Most 12" rips that you get on p2p are crap or low bit rate. Its not worth it. I would gladly pay $10 for a clean 320/FLAC rip.

I am a DJ and I would rather not buy vinyl. Vinyl takes up too much space that I can't afford. Also I can have a copy in my serato library and one in my itunes for cusual listening.
