Bought this on white for a quid before I knew what Dubstep was and used to rinse it in house and breaks sets - wish he'd come back

One of my favorite tunes. Surprised it's still in stock in quite a few stores.

Loving this at the moment. Bought Tempa Allstars 1 a couple of weeks ago and this has been getting a rinsing. So lush

Slightly offtopic but does everyone else reckon the Tempa Allstars EPs have been getting steadily worse? 1's heavy, 2's got great tracks by Mala, Kode9, D1 and Geeneus but I barely touch 3 and only play Martyn off 4. Bit of a shame but maybe they'll get a bit better again

Yeah, I'd go along with that. Quite want the Martyn track but don't really want to shell out £12 for one tune. Didn't even bother with 3 myself, 2's definitely got some gems on it.
Hmm....

I was telling DJG about this the other week. This past February I was in NY for Dub War at Tonic, and I knew a few years ago when Abstract first moved to NY he was bartending there and doing a techno night in their basement. I had lost touch with him, plus I hadn't gone up to NY for about 2.5 years.

Well, my friends and I get in from the cold, and hit the bar as soon as we got in to the party, and Alex/Abstract was bartending. We only got to talk for a minute, he was super busy. He's had a few different band projects (The Invisibles, had a release on Int.'l Deejay Jigalos a couple years back, had an alias for techno tunes and I know he had some stuff out on Palette at some point), was off of that for a bit and had been doing some sound design work. I think he did a 2-step sample CD for Code Zero or one of the other sample CD companies.

Anyways, it was kind of surreal. At the DMZ vs. Dub War night, Abstract is tending bar, and he probably had no idea what kind of influence he had on the sound of what was being played that night, and I'm sure the people throwing the event, playing it, etc. didn't know he was even there in any capacity.

And yeah, I was a fan of a lot of his dnb, still have a few dubs of stuff that never got released.

Thats madness, someone needs to speak to this guy and explain what he's partly responsible for and get him back on it - we need more forward thinking producers on this!

Any of this stuff get released? Am gonna check Discogs for the other stuff you mentioned on Hells label etc.

this is probabbly one of the best tunes tempa has released imo.

the Gunshot 12" on Rat Records is pretty rude 2-step.

He had a lot of dnb releases: http://www.rolldabeats.com/artist/dj_abstract. Also, Pneuma was his own label, and Almost Human was his techno alias.

I'll have to flip through my plates, the only ones off the top of my head that I know that did not get a release were a tune called "Tribute" and a remix he did of Hive & Juju's "Headhunter".
