Just downloaded A Bank.

The files are not seperate! They are all in one massive WAV!!!

I just spent an hour slicing the thing up. Over 120 samples in each Bank.

This is going to take me ages!

Anyone know of a way to automatically slice up wavs? Some sort of region detection in Sound Forge or something?

OK, seeing as I am going to go through and slice the whole lot up, would anyone like my version instead of the single file version which comes with the original downloads?

I can send them to you via MSN (I have a 100mb connection, so speed is not an issue)

Well, let me know and I will send them to you all chopped into individual samples.

Nice one.

Get hold of 'Recycle', it can auto detect the start points of each bit, and then export a load of slices.

Dude. Loading a 45minute 1gig+ sample into Recycle. Allow it.

Never fear though!!!

I have sliced up Bank A into individual .wav files for each sound, and made a torrent!!

http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3992020

I will slice the rest over the next few days and create a torrent for each Bank.

I have reduced the files to 48,000hz 24bit samples to save space. I dont think this affects quality too much.

Nice one.

n00b.

Torrents will change your life.

Download Utorrent Application (it is free)

The download the torrent file I made. This will be a tiny file (like 50kb or something)

Load the .torrent file into Utorrent. Utorrent will ask you where you want to download the file to. Select a directory on your hard drive, and then it will download automatically.

It is really simple.

I'm gonna help seed the torrents. Thanks for your contribution vadarfone. :D

Nice one. There were 5 people seeding this morning before I went to work.

I can get upload speeds of about 5mb a second over here (that is the fastest I have seen so far, but I guess if I am connecting with another 100mb fibre optic connection I would expect faster) but any help would be good.

So, I will get the rest of the banks cut up over the next few days and upload.

Back in the day, sample CDs came in the same way, loads of samples just piled into one track on the CD. WaveKnife is just one of those things that everyone who uses old sample CDs always has installed.

Actually, I thought I would try out Wave Knife...

But it only supports 16bit... Bum.

Manual slicing aint that bad. I have a system now that is pretty fast.

And yeah... I know what a sample CDs are.
