Translating the interview:

Bunzero is one of the most known and respected DJs from Sub FM. Natural of Belgium, your action base is the country capital, Bruxelas. From there he transmits the o Fresh Off The Boat Show, the FOB, that acquires the second place of “best radio program” at Dubstep Awards 2007, ahead of Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 1) and Skream (Rinse FM). With great enthusiasm Bunzero celebrates the silver medal, a prize which in practice means virtual recognition and motivation.

Playing with CDJs that simulates vinil and receiving dozens tracks a week, Bunzero became synonym of novelty at first hand. Your reputation assured the call to participate at the line-up of Drumbass Arena Allstars, event that happens at 08/02, at The New Coronet Theatre, London.
Follows the interview with the DJ and hear the recorded mix exclusivity for Tranquera.org. The selection includes unprecedented sounds and shows noise trends that should make the head of the scene in the coming months.

How do you see the results of the award from Dubstep Awards?
All that I can say is that I’m very happy for the second place won for FOB at Sub FM. I would like to thank all the winners from this edition and also everybody that participates at my show last year. I would like to send a big shout for all the gests. First for Mr. Jo, one of the most presents. This guy plays a crazy "gaita"! Thanks to Grimelock, Vanno, Savior, Phonetics, Sun OK and Alchemyst. All of them blessed my decks. Thanks to all the producers that relied on my talent and sent me tracks all the time. One more time, thanks a lot!

What happened with the scene in 2007? Do you think the award translated it?
The award reflects what the users of Dubstepforum.com think about the scene. It doesn’t means that everybody think the same. But I think that is a good sampling. It was made in a democratic way. So I say that it1s only one translation, not the definitive translation, if you know what I mean. I think Burial, Kode 9 and Skream still most popular than the others. The award is a very specific point of view of gender. I hope this helps emerging talents.

How do you mixed this set?
My equipments are two Pioneer CDJ 800 and an old mixer. All connected to the computer and live recorded, no tricks.

Why do you choose this tracks?
The last big names are Pinch and TRG but the mix proposal was to give opportunity for talents that can be more known in the future. AlsoI chose some local talents. Grimelock should release a new imprint called Stainage. Vanno is also a great Belgian producer, very underestimated today. This guy deserves recognition! The selection has tracks from producers that I play on my show, all thurstays, at Sub FM

Who are this producers at the mix?
I can say it's my crew, that I know very well. I work a lot with Grimelock and with Vanno, we play together at Bruxelas nights and also share collaborations. There is one of my tracks remixed by Grimelock at the compilation Sub Stance, from the imprint Aeclectrick Records. The idea its to release this on vinil from Stainage. It may be released a remix from another track from me called “My Lova”. I want to see the result of this soon! I pretend to work with Vanno too. I know the other producers that I travel playing and also because of the program Sub FM. I try to give a feedback for who send the tracks but this is becoming every time more complicated. The amount of material I get every week is great.

What is the importance of Sub FM?
The program covers a wide variety of styles in Dubstep and other genres too.
Some DJs are not afraid of mix, there is always someone playing old school and new tracks. In my opinion this is what the people want to listen. But the relevance of Sub FM is you international aspect. Dubstep originated in London but has spread rapidly and Sub FM represents that reality.

Do you think it’s important to encourage new talents?
My point is the tracks. If the music is cool, no matter who made. Dubstep is very wide, having something light, heavy, soft, raw, Reggae, industrial, acoustic, electronic. It’s very wide! I think the big names are very well represented by DJs that receives dubplates before, and this way I don’t see a reason to play always the same tracks. The scene grows and my job it’s to pick the best. Do not matters who did or where it came from.

Something else?
I thank all the producers who I work with and everyone who supports our work. Thank you for the interview!

Sorry for my English...
