Cliff Notes : Internet forums & imageboards of the world have united against Scientology, bombarding their sites with DDoS attacks, clogging their phonelines with Rick Astley's Never Going to Give You Up, and getting media coverage from all over the world

sort of puts the church of ham to shame, doesn't it

We've heard those words on these forums before... I wish he was here to enlighten us with his unique insight.

the problem i see with this methodology, although entirely too amusing for me, is that all it will do is put the crazyheads into defensive mode, and allow them the space to feel oppressed, which will just turn tom cruise into a "martyr figure" because it's his actions that seem to have spurred this whole plan.

funny, but strategically not all that smart.

Wrong.

If you actually dive in and read it has barely anything to do with Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise is nothing but a PR stunt in my eyes.

Earlier this evening their IRC network split and their army was divided and their organisation sucked, since no raids this afternoon. 711chan also got hacked by a g00n but has been restored to what it was 3 months ago. Everything has now been fixed.

But they are back, they are stronger, they are Anonymous.

If you want me to show you around and get you started let me know. They will be happy to seek more anons.

So much shit you guys should look into, easily the biggest internet stunt of all time.

oh it is definitely a massive hit on the internets. like i said, i am entirely amused and impressed at the scope of it, but i dunno...while my little anarchist heart revels in it all...i think there are bigger fish to fry right now. i am obviously speaking as an american in the belly of the beast who is really wanting to see some really big dudes taken down by something like that. the scientologists are the least of my worries.

Should look into some fairly large botnets. Alot of script kiddies like those at ryan1918 are like 1000 client botnets which is still a threat and can take a site like this offline.

Just put this in perspective, 25,000 client botnet is a fairly large botnet and can transmit 5gb's of junkdata per second. One botnet managed to crash a whole data center by sending around 12gb's of data per second.

If you think why people do this, then the answer is simple, its pretty much online kidnapping. If there is a governemnt election or some kind of vote/bet online, a botnet could take down the site that will be in its prime of traffic and the owner of the botnet could demand a ransom before the bots stop attacking.
