Back to Scotland with a bang after last year's storming Triptych festival appearance, Bristol's Dubstep kingpin DJ PINCH heads up the second Fortified Sessions of the year. Last year, Pinch showed everyone why he's considered one of Dubstep's greatest boundary-pushers with the release of his phenomenal first album Underwater Dancehall. Winding together sub-bass weightiness, techno subtlety and echoes of dub, not to mention several daring vocal collaborations, this album encapsualted the forward-looking approach to the sound he'd built up with releases on Planet Mu and his own Tectonic label, and drew many critical comparisons with classic bristol artists Massive Attack and Smith & Mighty so expect nothing less than a glimpse at the cutting edge of Dubstep when he hits the decks!
Backing up Pinch on the decks is fellow Bristolian the PEVERELIST. In 2007, a year where many people fretted over the prevalence of "half-step" beats and "wobble" bass in dubstep, Peverelist's Punch Drunk label has been a breath of fresh air. From his own techno influenced stylngs, to full on dub workouts form the likes of Rob Smith (of Smith & Mighty fame), the label has consistantly widened horizons past any perceived scene boundaries, and helped push forward the Bristol sound to the world. His set should give a tantalising glimpse into what he has planned for 2008! Nice.
Also taking to the decks will be local lad GRAVIOUS, with his first appearance in Glasgow this year. Signed to the consistently excellent HotFlush label, he will be setting the mood early, and spinning a selection of the his favourites from 2007, as well as new stuff to come in 2008 from himself, the HotFlush Recordings camp, and beyond!
As usual, the ELECTRIC ELIMINATORS will be on hand to provide support, with the freshest, bass heavy plates around.

I dingied Vex'd because last time I saw them I didn't really enjoy Vex'd them either. First time I saw them was really good as well
Edit: don't really think that first sentence needed two "vex'd"s.

I thought Vex'd were wicked; I knew just about all the tunes they played but I still had a marvellous time moshing in front of the soundsystem. Is this one going to have Mungo's rig as well?
