**** GotDarker Users Please Read IMPORTANT ****

When the clock struck 12 and everyone cheered and congratulated each other that they have survived and managed to make it in 2008, a small process started in everyones mind. The beginning of their "new years" resoloution.

Ours was to make it easier for everyone to browse both sites. Some people have used GetDarker but not GotDarker and vice versa. Other users just got confused over the two names.

In 2007 GotDarker started in around August, since then we have managed to have 1,500 people sign up to our website and over 1,000 files hosted. This has burned through thousands of gigabytes of bandwith with nearly 55,000 downloads. We have transfered over 4million megabytes of data since August 07' and figured it was time for an upgrade.

We began drawing up plans to move it into GetDarker but unfortunately this meant all our site registrations were to be lost as GetDarker meant users had to have a username, which GotDarker dosen't support. We was planning on pre-registering all of our users but this means they could end up with usernames they do not like, instead, we will be emailing them a link to this page so they can read this article. Hello if you are reading this :)

Of course, we wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't worth it. Instead we have opened up to feature requests and bug fixes and included alot of features that we didnt originally have. You can now view pretty graphs of individual files and each user has their own manageable RSS feed so users can keep upto date of their uploads.

There is the option to make uploads private, but still include them on your RSS feed so you can give your subscribers a special something too!

If you have alot of files uploaded, email us the email address you signed up to GotDarker with and your new forum username to ashley[at]getdarker[dot]com and we will happily transfer everything over to the new system for you, including download data for your graphs!

Big up ash and darky for putting there time and affort forward for others to benifit. theses sites are not spoke about enough. these guys are putting a lot of time into these projects for you! if you havent already these are sites you need to check. massive respect to these guys. big up get and got darker for there constribution 2wards the scene! helping people who dont have a platform to push there sound or dj skills, whatever you do and want heard.....these are a couple sites which will help you do so. big up ash and darkside everytime! cheers for whay your doin.

GotDarker now provides a stats graph to YOUR files.

As Shonky said, not everyone downloads files.....so you can now play ALL files instantly without downloading. This too is recorded within your Stats Graph!

Does it stream the original bitrate or does it aim to be leanient towards the less equipped listener?

Good point

As far as im aware it streams the original bitrate (i.e. the ACTUAL file which is uploaded).
