i know the levels vary on different tracks but im just trying to work out roughly how loud my subs should be by using the dblevel because the acoustics in my room are all over the place.
im using logic and my kick is peaking -6db
where abouts roughly should my sub be peaking?

Impossible to answer mate, every mix is different.
Sort your acoustics or get some good headphones.

yr kick almost always has the most energy in a tune, so if you're peaking at -6 and it sounds balanced-- thats yr level. nothing wrong w/ checking in (ideally a few different pairs of) headphones either.

this is a guideline and nothing more, but as you may or may not know, -6db is half your available volume. If your sub is peaking at -6db and your beats at -6db then BLAMMO, you've got 0db.
I always start off with my beats and bass running up to -6db as a starting point and then work from there....

I use Reason mostly and never really pay much attention to where the levels are apart from making sure they are not in the red:(
Another thing for me to research!

Yeah -6 at 24bit is usually where I leave the kick, then blend in the sub to taste. If they don't clash, you'll find the master bus stays at about -6.
The cool thing with Logic is the 32bit float. You can OVER ALL the channels and run them into the red and clip them to fuck...
...As long as you don't do that to the master bus. Keep that peaking at -6 for mastering and all will be well.

I believe cubase also does the same.
