Hi ppl,
when i use massive to work on a bassline, its all good.. but when i actually come to record it changes the sound of massive... even if in cubase i click play and then play on my midi keyboard the output sounds different.. alot different.. anybody help? it seems to be when i add the sync function in the ratio on one of my LFOs, it makes it sound jaunty... even when i use a sine curve in the LFO :S

it's all about recording the output of cubase when you've got the exact sound you want.

1. get the synth sounding great
2. open soundforge/audacity
3. select 'wave out' as your record source
4. if you don't have wave out, run your line out from your soundcard through a mixer, then from the mixer into your record in on your soundcard and select 'line in' as the record source
5. hit record in soundforge/audacity
6. press play in cubase

export the file from soundforge/audacity when you're done.
make sure you export it as an uncompressed wave file, at least 16 bit.
then you are good to use that sample, which should sound exactly how you heard it from massive, in your cubase project.

i don't use cubase for vsts, so i can't help you more specifically, but my advice is to resample the audio ^^

To throw a couple of questions at your question (hwa chaa), how is it that it's sounding different? And define jaunty a little more.

It is happened here too, with both...cubase 4 and sx3. Seems like its more some cubase's weirdness...reinserting instrument helped me. If this does not help, maybe you really have to reinstall massive...but first try just make a new project, then reinserting and then reinstalling....
