just moved to logic 8 from ableton and was just wondering how to consolidate lots of audio files into one single file as i could do this in ableton but havent got a clue how to do it in logic! thanks heads!

I don't entirely get what you want to do but I assume you want to use the "glue tool" within the arrange window:

Select the tracks you would like to merge/glue together to one track, select the glue tool (upper left corner) and click on any of the selected tracks.

Is that it what you meant?

Do you bouncing? you can bounce all files down to a stereo file, then drag it from your audio bin into you track.

Yes, that's another option indeed, but then you lose the ability to make changes to it, as it will be a wav/aiff file.

i tried to bounce the file but for some reason it wouldnt come up in the library bit on the right in the bounce folder even tho i did it several times? ahha ill try the glue tool cheers for that mate, having to get used to the idea of changing tools to do things as never had to in ableton!

Check where you are bouncing to or use spotlight to search for that bounce. The default location I think is Logic/Bounces and the default filename is Output 1-2.

you don't need to bounce .. you can merge and then create a new audio file or something along those lines ... can't be bothered to check. manual will tell you
