Bush is a distraction, the same as Zaphod in Hitchhiker's Guide. The real power is elsewhere. yeah bush is a dick & it makes me laugh to hear the things he comes out with bearing in mind the position he has, but you cant seriously think he has the power, that he is running the US!?
PNAC, Tri Lateral Commission, Bilderberg group, they are the ones who really make a difference. The rest is a theatre show.

“[The corporate mass-media (also the widely seen politics)] serve to divert the unwashed masses and reinforce the basic social values: passivity, submissiveness to authority, the overriding virtue of greed and personal gain, lack of concern for others, fear of real or imagined enemies, etc. The goal is to keep the bewildered herd bewildered. It's unnecessary for them to trouble themselves with what's happening in the world. In fact, it's undesirable — if they see too much of reality, they may set themselves to change it.”

wait. meef this isn't a dig on you personally. trust me. just something about this bugs me...
you started with "bush is a distraction" and you ended up at pnac, trilateral and bilderbergs.
whats the bigger distraction here? your right...the real power is elsewhere, but it is not in secret groups. the real power openly and publicly sit on the board of directors at the companies at the top of this post...and of course other companies, arms manufacturers, PACs, hedge funds, private security companies, so on and so on.
as much as i respect how the anton wilson types, the illuminati/apocalypse/opus dei/templar/mason angles open up kids minds to alternative visions of power, it's such an intellectual dead end!!!!
all this shadowy ancient conspiracy beliefs prey on people's desire to believe in the fantastic roots of evil when i think it is all much more banal and in your face.
getting far off topic i know, but i think people are afraid to look at the obvious because there is a deep need to dodge how responsible we all are for letting things get out of hand.
and man i cringe when people lump chomsky with bildergerstuff...the keywords you need to check is the "passivity, submissiveness..." believing in conspiracy theories easily makes more people more of both...

Are you from the US?
Not to insult you, but people in the US really see our government fucking us first hand. They do it every day, right in front of our faces and tell us it is for our own good. I'm just curious, because I have the same standpoint, that Bush is a puppet... I'm just of the opinion that someone other than who you've said is in control of the strings...

everybody acts like this has just been happening when bush was prez.
its been going on for a long time now...
i agree it sucks, but the way our gvt. works is not going to change anytime soon.
as much as i dislike bush, i hate cheney 10 times worse.
mans is making millions of dollars a day off the haliburton deals in iraq and wherever else.
anyways, i try not to think about it too often.

The sad thing is, we can do nothing about it. If we rise up, they will shoot us down or call us terrorist or anarchists. Unless our savior jesus comes from the heavens and pacifies the earth with his father.

martin luther king -- a man that isn't ready to die for something, isn't fit to live.
Either believe that or don't. Just take responsibility for your beliefs, and understand that you forfeit your right to an opinion or even emotion on almost anything relevant when you choose the latter.
blacks and whites didnt drink out of the same water fountain 50 years ago. the people that run your government remember those days, but our kids won't.
