Is it just me or were they excessively slow with getting people in (I missed Quest!), AND excessively heavy handed?
The big bloke on the door ran his fingers ALL through my wallet, spent seriously 2 whole minutes going through every compartment trying to find something in there.
(fuckers fat fingers were too short though!)
Any my girl said they were a bit over the top with there 'pat-down' of her.
Is this standard in London? I've been here 4 months, and have never encountered that kind of BS at any dubstep or other event?

herbal are getting notorious for their tight security, council are right up their arse cos there were a lot of drugs and underagers centred around herbal for a while, security is now super tight to make them look good to the council
but yes this leads to very slow entry and queuing, my advice would be to turn up early for nights there, personally i don't like it as a club, they have some good nights, but cutting down on the number of subs for the sake of putting some little stool chairs in is stupid

ps. not exactly standard for london but not unusual, to be fair like, whilst i wanna keep my drugs on me, it is reassuring to know that they are doing a proper search, and that anyone trying to bring in a weapon wouldn't be able to, nuff beef in clubs and knives etc. being allowed in cos of crap search doesn't help, but would be good if they could do it quicker, the man even went through my rolling baccy to check i didn't have weed in there, its clear that i'm gonna put that straight into my shoe innit[/b]

Seen security make people take their shoes off at The End to check for drugs. Now thats militant. Clearly though there are still ways of sneaking your stuff in.

that's also illegal. bouncer's aren't allowed to check in shoes. even police have to take you to a police station and do a proper search. obviously if you don't let them check your shoes you aren't going to get in though...

fuck herbal and especially fuck the bouncers and their policies...
no respect.
headed straight after finishing off BOMB straight to herbal in a hurry, was on the guestlist, its like 12.45... theres a long queue outside (as its the queue for both parties, upstairs and downstairs), the stnuc at the door tell us everyone, including guest list people gotta queue in the same one to get in... was pissed, wanted to come support the antisocial family and was carrying a backbag that weighs like 10 kilos.. told the bouncers to go fuck themselves and headed straight home. didnt feel like queueing til 1.15 to catch like under last hour of the night...
totally pissed, didnt get to come in see D1 play and say hi to antisocial.
so ye, fuck herbal and fuck the peeps at the door & how they handle the whole thing.
big up antisocial still, shame couldnt get in to see the vibes!!

If you are searched in public the police do not have a right to insist that you remove any clothing other than an outer coat, jacket, or gloves [s2(9) PACE], or headgear that is believed to conceal your identity [s60 CJPOA]. Nor is there a general right to search you more than superficially (e.g., pockets, shoes). This is true whether the search is for proceeds of crime, bomb-making materials, or anything else. However, if a search is otherwise lawful, you may be required to remove any of your clothing out of public view (e.g., in a police station). Code A states that a thorough search must only be carried out by a constable of the same sex.

damn right, they should not have cut down on the number of subs for the sake of putting in some un-needed stools, and the treble is painfully loud, was the herbal system and the pain it caused that made me get plugs innart

airports do have by-laws and are allowed to make you take off your shoes cos of the whole shoe bomber thing, i'd recommend
www.direct.gov.uk - normally clarifies this kinda thing and useful for info on car licensing and council tax etc. found it quite handy myself in the past

ultimately they though all have ROAR (right of admission reserved) so if you refuse to let them search a certain place regardless of its legality then can just then refuse you entry, its up to you to weigh up your right to privacy against your wish to get into the club
