I made a proper phatt loop in fruity loops, and I was planning on having that as a background to a 'forgot about dre' acapella. [The beat is slower than the song, I was going to slow it down. I was planning on syncing these two using Acoustica Mixcraft, but I just realized I have no idea how.
My beat is 8 beats to a bar, and the tempo is 50.00. [Is this BPM?]
Anybody have any suggestions on mixing software I can use to sync up the song and the beat?
I'm proper new to this stuff, just started today in fact, the nice beat was pretty much beginner's luck, I think.
I'll be learning more, thanks to anyone who replies.
Syncing rap to beat.

one way to find an acapellas BPM (beats per minute) is to google the song like "forgot about dre bpm" or if you have the original song and some sort of metronome or tap button, you can find the bpm of a song.
as to matching up a vocal with a beat there are 3 main ways to do it
the worst is to align it up and let the entire sample play along
(most of the time it will start to slide away from the track)
the second way to do it is to build a song around a vocal track
(i find it is easier to be at proper tempo)
and the best way to do it, is to chop up the original sample
into "slices", words or phrases, and align them with the song,
sometimes a little tempo change will be needed to the original vocal
hope this helps
by the way 50 bpm seams rather slow even for dubstep
make sure that 50 is not just the preset tempo on your program
peace and dub

eyy
Thanks so much man, I'm gonna try and sort something out here.
Yeah, 50 is very slow, I was trying to make something proper gutteral. My friend is actually gonna end up rapping over it for a recording, but I was gonna try and see if I could figure out how to sync a song to it as I'm new to music making.

it's much easier than that mate. If you load them both into Acid Pro you can go through the tracks and beatmap them. i.e tell the program where all the bars start and finish and also get the program to automatically adjust the tempo of the instrumental or the vocal to match the tempo of the other one while preserving the pitch. i use it for the odd hip-hop mashup and it's highly recommended
