Post by Pistonsbeneath » Thu Apr 10, 2008 11:10 pm

i love loads of the music but i kinda don't like saying it

it seems a bit of a cliche now

what do you guys think?

am i alone on this?

i like using D on the net and in real life i describe it as sub-bass driven music

It's no cliche where I come from.

I mention dubstep to some one and the general reaction is :o wtf is that..

most people tend to recognise the dub bit, which is generally a bit misleading probably...

Only solution I can think of is to always have a giant bass bin on hand to drop a tune on and put in peoples faces as a description

Say any word enough and it sounds ridiculous. That said I quite like the way Dubstep rolls of the tongue. Though I might start pronouncing it Dubs Tep, just to keep it fresh.

aint ashamed of it at all sometimes i say it to much like "dubstep dubstep dubstep...dubstep ... dubstep" and have to take a break so as not to piss off dnb heads with my dubstep prattle ( actualy i kinda enjoy pissing off dnb heads teehee).

Well over the 'step' bit eh. Easiest way to start a new genre is to (insert random word) and add step after it. :H:

or core.

Such as grindcore, metalcore, etc.

Or my favourite, stepcore.
