NOFX - The Decline

One of the most ambitious punk songs of all time? One of my favorite pieces of music at that speed, thats for sure. Complete with movements, time sig changes, tempo changes, etc and clocking in at just over 19 minutes the thing that gets me about it now is how biting the social commentary is for when it was recorded and that it stands up over time.
Thoughts? Comments?

Their newer stuff is so dope, and now that Fat Mike is all pollitical again, very meaningfull.

Yup. They just put out the excellent "Wolves in Wolves Clothing" and should be putting out a new one within a year, from what Ive heard. I think they're touring Europe right now and proabaly doing the Warp tour again this summer in the US.

well, I don't know...I mean, I never really dug punk laced with metal...and thats what I feel nofx falls as.
I have always been more of a X-ray spex, clash, minutemen, kind of girl.

like the band, like the mash-up. I started playing in a punk band because of them (and Propagandhi)...and still do (12 years now)

Im really feeling the new one... if you havent gotten it yet, check it. Fat Mike is turning into an amazing songwriter, even moreso than he has been...
Did you know Erik only uses one kick drum pedal? Fastest foot in punk?

1 pedal eh? that's pretty impressive.

great band, not heard them in years though.
'heavy petting zoo' reminds me of being a carefree young whippersnapper, back when i actually had the energy to crowd surf.
