Your history of Dubstep...
Your history of Dubstep...
I'm writing an essay on Dubstep, abit more interesting than rock & roll!
Obviously, not alot of books or text has been published about it as its relatively new.
What do you all know about how it started, social aspects, dance culture, influence?
And are there any good articles, journals etc i've missed...?
Ta.

This forum itself is a great resource for the history of dubstep...there is a wealth of info sitting right in front of you if you are willing to look through it all.

Surely writing about a cultural revolution which has influenced society for the last 60 years or so is more interesting than writing about a little known genre of electronic music, largely unknown by the vast majority of the worlds population.

Council of nicea anyone or how about the book of enoch ?
Are you going to start banging on about how Arius was excommunicated because he was producing breakstep? You bloody love arguing about that you do.

And so when does a genre surpass being too little and unknown to research and educate...!?Baron_von_Carlton wrote:Surely writing about a cultural revolution which has influenced society for the last 60 years or so is more interesting than writing about a little known genre of electronic music, largely unknown by the vast majority of the worlds population.
For one relatively small write-up question which has been proposed to hundreds of people I do find it more interesting to write about such a current growing scene, being part of it and the possibilities of its global awareness.
How many times has a lecturer had to wade through Elvis 'the King' papers?
