I think Kode 9 was the most boring thing I have ever seen live. The rest of the night was really cool.

Daaaaamn what i lineup

hate to be badmouthing someone else's party, so i'll limit my criticism to the sound. this was a typical case of 'renting funktion one sound and thinking it will automagically sound perfect'! what was in the main room was simply inadequate... there should have been at least 2, if not 3 times the amount of power than was there for dubstep to sound good in that size of room! as for the second room, the mixer was shite, and - being run into the red constantly - was distorting everything. also, the placement of the subs in the room caused a nasty feedback loop through the needles and resulted in a constant, irritating low-frequency hum, most vividly audible during breakdowns. ouch!!! plx fix for next time...

you have to give credit to pole though, who - as I was told - spent three hours in the afternoon trying to adjust the funktion one system in the small room, which had been equalized for electro and minimal. he even brought his own equalizer. so, regarding the circumstances the sound in the small room was quite good (could've been much worse).

as far as the main room goes - the set up was definitely too small for a room of that size and the lower frequencies were cut out to quite some extent. one of the promoters said this was due to the tin roof, which would have vibrated otherwise. not really a point of putting kode9 in there.

party was awfully crowded and, boy was it hot...

pinch smashed it and his b2b with 2562 in the end was nice as well...

lets say how it really was: the fuckin promoter didnt cared a shit about the sound, all the excuses are just bla bla!!!!!

its no problem to make things right, if u want it ofcoz

but in this case it was straight about money only !
ofcoz in the end its the choice of the crowd, if they prefer big names on big sponsored partys with crappy sound, go on.

also hey steve, u dont feel ashamed about things like that ? i would enjoy one of your sets more on my crappy laptop speakers than it was sounding in the mainhall of this party! there was NO fucking bass at all ! many people said about your set it was crap, maybe it even wasnt (i would think so, if u remember graz, i was dancing for close to your whole set and enjoyed it .... ) but crappy systems like on that night make every set sound like ass ..... .
i came into the party, walked into the mainfloor, heard some terrible noise and thought who the fuck is making this annoying shit, just to realize its spaceape on the mic ....... . turned around after less than 30 secs to hear atleast the last bit of 2562's set on the 2nd floor (with crap sound too, even if with more bass .....).

maybe time for having riders with details about proper sound on the partys ?

but yeah, just my 2 cents .

sure. however, i'm assuming that the funktion one germany crew didn't set the p.a. to cause an aggravating feedback loop from system hum, so in a sense it was probably this effort you talk about that caused the problem in the first place. like i said, different placement of the subs and a better mixer are probably all that's needed to fix the problems in there. yes, it could have been much worse, but it also could have easily been much better!

i would definitely give the venue another shot, esp. if either only the small floor was open or the main floor had undergone a serious bass upgrade. that is, after the above-mentioned issues have been adressed. some participation in the forum and coordination with other local promoters doing similar things (hint!) would score MAJOR bonus points from me as well. but then, that's just me, and yea.... this is just my 2 zlotys on the matter.

and in any case, big ups to the rob pinch and the one like 2562 for bringin some ridiculous tunage! noice1!!

constructive criticism is always welcome and provides a fair basis for discussion. your post lacks constructiveness. if you desire destructive conflicts with certain people, try it face to face (fight like a man not a pussy ).
