A bit of a gripe that has been getting me thinking..

Is it really super necessary to move event threads to the 'Old Events' section the very day after a show?

As a promoter and a performer I value feedback very highly and use it to bring better shows and performances in the future. Although I can somewhat understand the reasons for doing so I think this particular method of cleaning out the forums takes away from the number of feedback oriented posts after a given event. I would presume the majority of people cant be bothered trawling through the Old Events section to find a certain gig in order to make a post hardly anybody will read for the same reasons..

Respect to the mods for running this thing but this particular nuance gets on my nerves!

Valid point?

Can we possibly look at making it 3-5 days after a given event that the thread is moved?

Thanks,

Dapht1

i must say i have given this some thought myself - and do think a couple of days after the event would be a bit better.

all old threads get moved out of this forum every sunday night/monday afternoon.

the reason we do this is that we don't want to do what other forums do, and have 5000 old events bumping around with upcoming and new events. it makes no sense to do that, because the basic idea of an event forum is to know what's coming up and happening this week, where it's happening..etc. feedback is entirely different and important, but that can be done in our old event section.

i hope you understand our viewpoint on this.
