^^^ :D :D :D

Im tempted by the Thai Curry Crickets. Though i can buy a whole box of live ones from the live food petshop. However i emailed the guy and asked if they where safe for human consumption and he never got back to me.

£2.50 is steep, i might wait till i get to thailand and gauge myself then :D

Insects/arachnids are meant to be really healthy snacks cos they're high protein and low in fat. I've never tried any though :(

True but every place i have eaten them they have been deepfried. Rendering the nutritional content to zero. They are damn tasty with a cool beer though.
Kinda of like Pork Scratchings

So do you eat the whole lot? Or do you drink/eat the soup (never sure which is the correct term) and suck out the meat from the shells like you would with crab or whatever?

Ive not had this exact dish but when i had Scorpion i was told to eat the whole thing. It wasn't too unusual tasting really, kind of like eating a Shrimp with the shell on with a slight musty flavour.
The other dish on the tray is basically a load of Tarantula's stacked up. Far superior to Scorpion, they have a slight Bacon flavour to them. Maybe that was the fat the where fried in though.
