hope it goes delendi - 2 days it too early to say...
people who post information about their life on the internet always get jokes made about them - it's the internet!

anyone on a forum full of people to whom audio is a big part of life shouldn't make jokes about tinnitus.

When I got it, it freaked me the fuck out for for months.
But over time, I have got used to it and barely notice it now. It's about training yourself not to listen for it - this is impossible when you first get it, but you naturally do it over time.
Don't worry - it gets better.
EDIT: I assume you are buying yourself some good earplugs if you haven't already? Carry them with you everywhere you go - sometimes I even wear mine on the tube (especially on the Victoria Line as it is really bloody noisy).
