'Night Vision' is a pinnacle that may not be topped I'd say

is it just me that thinks this?
i do like everything distance puts out but nothing seems to be on this level..
that bit when it goes down an octave is my favourite bit of any dubstep tune so far...
do i just not get the newer stuff?
i do like V & the b-side that sounds well like delight but still not as great imo
i really hope more stuff like night vision gets made..
is it just obvious in other people eyes?
just wondered

I think Feel Mme is his best tune so far.

Cheers.
Feel me is quite slow about 132 bpm. It's 4x4 but with a massive bass and is dead funky.

oh yeah sorry i know feel me
yeah its good and it has that nice metallic soulful melody to it but it just doesnt push my buttons like the bass manipulation in night vision
its a very sexy tune but its like a lot of his stuff very minimal
my mate that loves distance maintains half the tunes are unfinished

Yeah innit. Theres quite a few better distance toons in my book! (Cyclops

)
Most of (the rest of

) my demons would give it a pretty decent run for its money!
edit: And im still not over "that drop" on the V

Itll be a few years yet! (Cant believe ive got it on vinyl!!!)

yeah traffic is awesome as well but lacks as many dimensions as night vision
fallen is very cool but the vex'd remix improved it no end imo
hes obviously very capable but this may be controversial..i think he worked harder on my demons than anything since..
maybe the demand of having to release loads of tunes to eat takes its toll i dunno
i like everything hes done but i positively love my demons

I find him in little dull tbh..most if it sounds like instrumental metal/rock to me, i much prefer him when he's more experimental in his sounds and breaks from the norm, as in the track MBP mentioned.

well yes i suppose like i said as hes so minimal he could be seen as dull but theres something to enjoy in most of his tunes...but when he gets it right i don't think theres better....someone like gravious has far higher quality control and i love all his songs but none are as good as night vision that i've heard....i really wouldn't describe it as the norm either
he seems to make two distinct styles...i love delight & present day very much
as well but not as much...
what sort of dub do you like the most if thats a question you can answer?

I more meant dull as in predictable and formulaic..to my ears anyway..i like a lot of the more minimal techno-esque releases, and the more 2 steppy/swingy tracks that seem to be getting more popular. For me at the moment Kode9 is pretty much playing what's interesting me most though.

kode9 is amazing yeah..i love his remixes...the dabrye one is incredible..he should produce some uk hip hop
i listen to bitstream or akufen if i want minimal techno though although some can hit the spot

Yeah, it's getting to the point now that I almost feel ashamed for playing it to myself, *yet* *again*.
Anyway, I know it's a little bit hype but it is also the best in its league by some way - that newer track of his with a vaguely similar sound to the V. Mala dropped it at DMZ, got about 3 rewinds. Someone remind me of the id?

I may have mentioned this once or twice, but IMHO Kode 9 is the fucking don. He's one of the few people who can keep the balance between deep / minimal and ruff / rowdy without veering towards either predictable bangers or tastefully insipid chin strokers.

my favourite distance tune is really old - it's called Saints'n'Sinners, from the BOKA003 Low End Dubs EP. really nice hindi(maybe) vocal on there.

lets not even talk about unreleased 2003-2005 era, distance! so many tunes.
"confined" from the last album should've been a single. "cella" too.

i don't agree with you guys lol
i have everything hes done including his boka release
night vision is miles ahead for me
v is great but very repetitive compared to night vision
why does it always have to be either a new tune or the first tune that gets mentioned as being someones best?
night vision is more interesting and better produced
empire is id say better than any of the other tunes mentioned
imo of course
