weird that someone i used to consider cutting edge doesn't really keep up with some things anymore.
"Dub is great for three minutes each track. But 10 minutes, it's like, what the fuck is this?"
hmmm...what about pole, substance and vainqueur, etc.

Seems he is kinda ignorant to Dubstep. If he knows Skream and some "reggae" track.
Whos Carl Craig anyway? Was he in Red Dwarf?

He did however bring up a good point.
"But if it's a good track, that's what I'm interested in. I don't care what style it is. If fucking Britney Spears makes a track that's good, I'm gonna like it."
I think thats all that matters really if you are into music. If it sounds good, then you are compelled to like it. Is it part of the job to be completely one with whats hot and whats not, or knowledgeable on every genre of music?

yeah that's rich coming from someone who's catalog is filled with +6 min. tracks..
but if he doesn't feel that's his choice.. can't really force someone to like something he's not into..
still I'd like to know what the boring track was, he was played was..

I used to shop in rushhour when i was living in Amsterdam and they have a tiny dubstep section which comprises mainly of dmz/hyperdub/tectonic
they don't bother to search out anything else besides the big labels .
Its one of these record shops that you hear lots of good stuff about but get there and walk out baffled as to what people were talking about when they say its GREAT

....off topic but the best record shopping in the Netherlands can be found in Rotterdam .

you have to consider that dude is
a) remixing
b) dj'ing somewhere
c) making music
How much time does he have when he is not working to listen to music that is not made by people close to him and who he already respects as musicians?
answer = 0

I dont really understand this trend at the moment for trying to convert big name producers and djs of liking dubstep, this is kind of reminiscent of the whole Goldie interview the other week, the fact is, the more you push something on people the less they are going to agree with you (i think jehovahs witness, moormen and islamic fundamentalists should take note of that one) if a dj likes a record he will play it, does it bother me that carl craig and goldie dont like dubstep no, carl craig in particular always plays good music (and has made some of the most seminal tracks ever constructed) and dubstep isnt the only good music out there so why does everyone make such a big deal.
