2005 Dubstep award! RULES & FAQ
2005 Dubstep award! RULES & FAQ
you can nominate your favourites till 1st December.
you can nominate as many people/tune/night etc. as you want.
you can nominate the same person/tune/night etc. as many times as you like but there is no need for double nominating.
1st December we'll make a pool (with all nominees) and start voting.
you can vote for only once per category!
you can vote till 1st January 2006.
anything else?

Re: 2005 Dubstep award! RULES & FAQ
I think you might need to explain it again man - I reckon people think these threads are for voting, not nominating... Would be a shame if some people didn't make it onto the list, despite contributing a lot to the scene and the sound.dubway wrote:you can nominate the same person/tune/night etc. as many times as you like but there is no need for double nominating.

i don't know..autonomic wrote:Dubway - does 'best website' include blogs and forums? there seems to be a lot of overlap in people's nominations.
people are nominating blogs and forums so i guess it does..
personally, i see "blog" as a pleace where ppl tell what they do, like, listen, eat, dream etc.
so if you look that way my "blog" is more a website(with a sub-forum) then a blog..
when you say blog - i think of martin, infinite, gutter...
but yeah, ther is a overlap in many categories ("release" is "tune", "newcomer" is "producer", "blog" and "forum" are "websites"...)

i think ppl only want to say what they think (that's why there are so many multi nominations..)triac wrote:I think you might need to explain it again man - I reckon people think these threads are for voting, not nominating... what do you suggest me to do?
personally, i think that blogs should only be eligible for the blog award. likewise, forums for the forum award.
and the website award should be left to dubstep-related sites like southernsteppa, hyperdub, riddim, etc. that have different formats and might be more magazine-like.
not a big deal and obviously i've got a little personal interest in this but i think it's the fairest approach.

personally, i don't see any "format difference" beetween southernsteppa, dubstep and riddim (they have almoust identical structure:autonomic wrote:and the website award should be left to dubstep-related sites like southernsteppa, hyperdub, riddim, etc. that have different formats and might be more magazine-like.
southernsteppa - FORUMS ARTICLES REVIEWS SOUNDS LINKS CONTACT
dubstep - NEWS FORUM CALENDAR MIXES RELEASES DUBS LINKS CONTACT
riddim - NEWS ABOUT ARTICLES CONTACT DOWNLOADS GALLERY LINKS PROFILES FORUM )
not a big deal and obviously i've got a little personal interest in this, too

actually i agree with you that blog and website have very different dimension..
and if i have to choose what my "blog" is then it's definitelly a website(and that brings a confusion).
what do you think?
but why don't we let the people decide?
these are only nominations..
if we nominate someone who doesn't belong in that category people will not vote him...

Yeah, I don't think there is anything you can do really.....dubway wrote:i think ppl only want to say what they think (that's why there are so many multi nominations..)triac wrote:I think you might need to explain it again man - I reckon people think these threads are for voting, not nominating...
