You can make any sort of music in any program.

Best bet would be to have a Google for a few tutorials on making beats in Logic 8, then having a read through the Production Bible/Introduction posts at the top of the Production group to give you an idea about Dubstep.

Then it'll just be a case of thrashing around with it and making noise 8)

Learn on Garageband. It's free and you'll figure the basics out quicker. Then stepping up to Logic will be exciting as well as much easier. You can make some good shit with Garageband.

hahahaha [logic 8 pissed off so many logic users 'cos it's much cheaper than 7, has been 'dumbed down' a load and there's not much new 'real devlopement' in terms of synths and stuff

the es2 synth is my fave for wobble and stuff, you can create a basic square/sine whatever then have the filter cutoff modualted by an LFO [only LFO can be used in the matrix i belive, which is a pain 'cos u can't synch it :-(] then your modwheel can be used to control the speed off LFO 1

so tap in a bassline then play modwheel over top [or draw in modwheel automation in the the midi matrix window]

No, it wasn't 'dumbed down'. The UI was cleaned up from the Baroque German KlustaFuq and made to appear more in line with Apple's way of thinking. By the next version, the transition will be complete and it'll be even more marvelous.

Logic is simply the best DAW out there, which is scientific fact. You can potentially make anything with it. If you can't, the problem isn't the software.

he uses logic and FL ... which is a good combo really. if fl had better automation and if you could flip the step sequencer/playlist into audio veiw it would be quite powerfull.

"ukrainian homogoatcore"

^ fuck dubstep im making that from now on.

To answer the question, yes you can make dubstep on logic, you can make it in any DAW really.

If you are new to producing however, and have no idea what you are doing, I'd recommend reason, simply because it's got everything you need all in one place and there are about a million tuts on the web for you. After using that you'll find it a lot easier to move to something like logic.
