No.. I go from my DAW to ableton and its all confusing and hard and time consuming to do shit that I can do quickly elseware !!
I think everyone finds that, you just get used to whatever you've learnt on... Don't be put off by the learning curve tho if you want to try something new... But also why change if ableton is working for ya ! good luck

ill agree with you. started on Digi Performer, moved to ableton and havn't looked back! i can knock something out real quick in live, not so much with other apps.

i was using a "copy" of ableton 5 for maybe 6months before i got locked out and to tell the truth, i didnt find it too friendly . . . great for live performance but i jus couldnt make friends with it on a production level. bought a copy of logic 8 (never used logic before) and i love it. so easy, so friendly. . . so, ill never go back !

Ive been using Ableton for a couple of years now, before that I tried Cubase and could not get it to even make a noise. The reason , did not really like it.
But Ableton seemed really intuitive for me, or maybe I was just ready to wrap my head around it. Now Ive got Logic 8 and there is a bit of a learning curve but the sound quality is miles ahead IMO. But I still use Ableton to edit samples. Trying use the best of both.
It is really about using what you've got well that matters most at the end of the day.

same boat man, ableton was the first program i used and had to get logic 8 for my uni course, but ableton so much more user friendly and intuitive than logic imo, but logic has better dynamic effects than ableton and better synths so i just bounce all tracks out of ableton and bring them into logic, sorted!!!

i can get ableton, reason, cubase, logic, digi performer all to "make a noise" i can make shit in renoise in 10 minutes that sounds better than anything i've ever done in another DAW.
ableton isn't my cuppa. maybe because it blows?

I love ableton, but I reckon you have to really spend the time learning it to get the most of it. With other DAWs you have to do this to get anywhere, but because Ableton has a very simplistic format, people get into parts of it and then never know anything about the other 80% of what it can do. It's boring but you need to work through the entire manual and also seek out as many tutorials as you can. There are loads on YouTube. Patience basically.

learned reason first, but didnt have much love with engineering - no spectral analysis, db meters, etc.. but was able to get a workflow down and turn ideas into tunes.
then tried cubase, made some major leaps and bounds in understanding engineering, layering, and timestretching (so helpful). but... I thought that If I was working towards doing Live PA, I might as well start building my tunes in Live so I can transfer my skills and tunes quicker.
I LOVE LIVE. Its kind of a combo of the fun and usablility of Reason with the power and capabilities of Cubase. Its taking me a little longer to get a beefy sound with Live, but I think its the one for me. I also haven't really fully explored the Clips view, which think has amazing potential. And Live's so bloody intuitive.
*I highly recommend buying a book on your sequencer - made 100% of the difference for me -esp if you're starting out with production.*
Cheers.

IMO manuals are balls to read - just peep em when you need an answer
Books are much easier to pick up and scan.... I *hate* reading PDFs

Actually, every physical copy of Ableton has a printed manual provided
I always found Ableton the easiest and most effective programm... I mean compare the clicks you neeed to insert a VST in Ableton to Cubase. Or draw automation lines (i'n not saying curves, because ableton has none... even FL had them in version 3).
I think i needed 10 minutes back then with Ableton 4 to make the first beats. FL 3 was much harder to learn.

Logic ftw. The tools are so much better and more accurate. Also the automation is a bit more detailed so you can make lots of kinda fx's with it. Prolly ableton has it too, but logic has it a bit better how i noticed it

you can automate anything in ableton.
