i dont really understand the example... Would any label discussion eg. "when is [song] coming out on [label]" threads, promotion threads etc. be posted in the label forum then?, leaving "dubstep" subforum for general discussion? If so yes please.

yes. all threads about releases would go there.
that would make organized releases database.

I think this site's actually quite tricky for newcomers to negotiate as it is.

Guess you get used to it, but there seems to be some overlap between the different subforums already.

Actually, I like the idea. I was also thinking about the separate forums for studio mixes and radio (podcasts), but in any case it would be rather difficult for people to post in a proper section (especially for the newcomers)

We had a precedent with radio forum. People just don't want to keep things organized unfortunately.

not sure voted no tho

personally not in favour of splittin forum up much more than it already is. There are a lot more labels now i guess tho. Maybe it make things easier, after radio forum tho thinkin not

Its already organized enough imo. I dont doubt there are ways of improving the forum more sub-sections not the answer. More sub-sections would actually make it more difficult for me anyway. i dont want to have to check a different sections for releases.

i dont have a separate drawer for my black socks from my coloured ones.
I like the main section it has a nice range of threads bit chat, radio hype, talk about releases.

I know it's not the same as what you're talking about, but 7"s thread - http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=22931 - is already pretty comprehensive as a resource on labels.. maybe give it permanant sticky & expand on it with more links for each label etc... saves on splitting the forum up even more? Not sure how to vote.

No need to separate the forum further.

For discography purposes, use discogs. Everything else is redundant.

lets not make the mistakes that we had with the radio forum which nobody read as it just seemed like fairly uninteresting clutter, i think label/radio threads work quite well in the main forum, as they catch my eye whilst i scroll down, and might put me onto something i otherwise would not have looked at

for example i now listen to a lot of different radio shows cos i have just seen their thread crop up somewhere in the main forum and taken an impulse interest, whereas before i never would have listened to them as i wouldn't want to go to the radio forum and just sift through pages and pages of threads hoping to find something that might interest me - i wouldn't want labels to lose people's attention and interest because their releases get lost in mounds of "new release" threads

as i regularly tell my mum:

if you put things away in their own seperate draws then youll never see them again

I think it were better of a subforum for rolling release threads.

i fully do agree with this but as a lot of peeps are posting infos about labels on main board i personally think a dedicated subforum is not a bad idea in order to clarify a bit the main forum browsing
Just my 2 cents though
