New member, new tune - go easy.

Post by theorum » Tue Jun 10, 2008 2:50 pm

I'm fairly new to dubstep - usually make drum and bass, but thought i'd slow things down and try something different.

'Falling' is my first attempt - when i say first attempt i don't mean i'm a complete noob to making tunes, so if you could have a listen and give us some feedback it would be much appreciated. It's a bit of a moody number.

Cheers

Now listening.

This a pretty nice tune would bring some bass into a bit quicker though imo. Bassline is tasty. You can tell that you have been producing drum and bass.

Good first attempt.
Keep it coming
Give my tune a listen its called Up for the moment.

Thanks for the reply man,

i agree the bassline needs to drop earlier in the intro, the intro is quite long and boring as it is.

I think i need to snap out of the same formula i've been using in other tunes too.

Cheers

like it.
i think that it's a little too mid-range. but I'm glad you've opted out of wobble bass. also, it needs a drop down to bare minimum beats and subs at some point and a little more variation in the drum programming.
like the feel though, moody. i can't help thinking that some subtle conga/bongo layers might pick it up a bit.

keep going. :D

Yeah cheers Primate

gonna go back and sort out the mixdown

as for the lack of variation in the beats - i totally agree, i tend to get a bit lazy when i'm nearing the end of a tune-just want to get it finished.

I was actually going to put some nice bongos here and there but as i said above, got lazy.

Thanks for the feedback - good to get other peoples views, think i might go back and improve on some parts.

Thanks!
