TV Youth presents a 25 minute collection of trademark big-basskick dancefloor-filling electro tunes and slightly more downtempo, thoughtful numbers. “Forward Actions” starts the game introducing all of your expected 00’s electro character sounds, followed closely by “Stations”, with a funkier and more tightly constructed vibe. Rolling straight across to “Sisters” riff-kick pounding which by its half way point has progressed to a quite complex piece combining rolling drums, guitar riff, distorted synth and all the bleeps and synthy sounds you like. Then, “Timboblip,” like the walk to work on a Monday morning brings you back down to ground, opening up for “Ceries” to get the party rolling again with more slamming kicks and synth bigness, before waving goodbye with “Filter Tip”.
Thoroughly enjoyable, not least on the dancefloor, TV Youth has been making big waves in the Electro party circuit the past year, supporting everyone from Chris Clark, Plaid, DMX Krew, Casper Clark and Hudson Mohawke, through to Hot Chip. Surely one to watch over the coming year.
