Depends what you want, synthetic, or genuine orchestral sounding strings.
For more complex synthetic strings I would recommend NI FM7, or absynth (if you're willing to put the time in, though you could probably be satisfied with some of the presets, they're a good start anyhow)
also virsyn tera and steinberg d'cota deserve a mention.

If it's genuine orchestral sounds you want there is a vst called orchestral made by Edirol, though I have never used it. I'm guessing it's a multisampler vst, though I'm unsure.

Eastwest make some very nice multisampler tools, I haven't used them personally, but I know someone who bought a big bundle and they seem to have been recorded very well, and you have a decent amount of control within the host (Native Intruments technology and GUI : ala kontakt )

That is a link to a list of all the string sets they do.

Shit! Sorry to hear that man! Actually I just read your post - you don't get snooped on you just chose a shit (and probably cheap) internet provider! Plenty of people have been caught in that trap!

Im not a big fan on instrument VST's. Got Edirol Orchestral and i know it's been heavily rinsed in Grime but i fucking hate it. Go sample some rare obscure strings or your favourite record imo

x2 for truth lol

I can't f***ing stand pizzicato strings in grime tunes any more, just because its the hallmark of a shit grime production..! (imo lol)

Actually, I thing that the shit orchestral grime sounds are more likely fruity and reason...
