OK, over this weekend whilst pissed I have somhow managed to stop my keyboard sending midi to cubase. Checked the device set-up, the preferences etc, can't see that anything has changed (and even tho I was drunk I would not have done anything to these settings).

Any suggestions?

sometimes when i think something is messed up through midi on my computer

it usually ends up being the keyboard itself.

Try doing a master reset on the controller, this has solved at least 70 percent of my midi problems

You could try a different MIDI (or USB, depending) cable from the keybd to the computer....

Do you have a midi to usb converter? Is it powered by the USB bus? Have you added anything to that USB chain?

to give u full details

running cubase sx3
keyboard is Akai MPK49, directly plugged intomy computer usb 2 usb.
nothing has changed USB wise. I have added some games and some more samples. I remember getting drunk friday night and tryin to make a tune, it was working fine then, came to use it whilst sober yesterday and I have no indication of and midi data entering Cubase.

my plan at the moment is to go homw after work and reload the AKAI software but don't know if this is going to work so any other suggestion will be welcomed
