Is it just me or is Aerial by 2562 Rubbish?

Sorry if the title of this seems confrontational, and sorry if you are into this album, but it is a genuine question and not just a random dig at 2562.
I am heavily into dubstep and think Burial, Skream, Benga, Ital Tek etc are wicked, but I just don't get this 2562 album. I am also a music producer myself (although I don't make dubstep).
So my question is: is it something I'm not getting, or is it actually pants? In particular, the first track on the album has this synth sound that really doesn't seem to work at all, like it is actually badly queued in or something. What I don't get is, if I am right, how did it ever get to be a commercially released album??
Am I wrong?

Yes, release of the year IMO. See the appreciation thread for others feeling the vibes.

Hm, I certainly dont think its rubbish, but I dont think its overly amazing. Its a good album nonetheless but I do feel some people hype it up too much tbh.

do you like french house as well? im sorry, i just don't see the point in making a thread like this. its pretty damn obvious why you don't like this, you are liking the more banging dubstep and can't adjust to the more experimental stuff.
i don't even know if i can help you with this problem.

its different approach from the general dancefloor tune style imo...
beautifully made and loads of fun to mix with... perfect for nice long blended mixes...

i fully expected to see one of those replies along the lines of "dude- if you don't understand this album then you clearly don't like music and can't be my friend". where is it?

Shreddyde - Other than dubstep the main types of music I am into are ambient, electronica, experimental, noise etc - so I can definitely adjust to experimental stuff.
Anyway, question answered - it's me! Maybe it's a grower, I will definitely give it some more time based on all these comments. Thanks everyone. Perhaps I'll get st0ned and listen to it, that's usually a pertty good decider!

I really like it and as an album i think it makes better listening than most dubstep albums. Prefer the Pinch and Burial albums though.
