Cables

Can anyone reccomend some quality Jack leads that are good at minimising static hiss when recording from my Hardware?
Or should i be addressing a different section of the recording step - ie sound card?
reason I mention cables is that they all seem to vary in static hiss level.

make your own
it is so much cheaper that you can get top of the line parts + cable + soldering iron for the price of midpriced cables

cables have the highest markup of all electronics goods
700% is industry standard mark up

Interesting idea lilt but I would rather spend the time Making tunes.
I hear Whirlwind leads are pretty solid? Any other suggestions that might be worth the markup?

You just want to use balanced connectors going into balanced sockets.

A bit of hiss is nice, though. If the hiss is too loud, check out your gain structure.

As long they are made out of copper, there is no quality difference.

There is a difference in the sheathing, but not concerning the wires themselfes. Copper is copper.
