you mean quarterstep? it's been done, check the second drop of this one: http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/se ... TARS01&S=b (around 1:41 in this file)

yours actually sound more as a suspended first snare, not really the quarterstep... then you would have to put the snare on the 3-mark, yours is on the 4-mark (if you count really slow)

thye both start off well but the wobbly basslines kind of ruin them for me, especially the first one, dont really like the bassline on that one.

The second one is alrite though, i like the drums and the sample, but again i think the bassline needs work, but i think this one defo has potential...

edit: upon a second listen, the bassline on the second one is growing on me. thats a good tune man, i think is could still be brushed up a tad but pon the d/l cheers for the 320...

You are in exactly the same boat as me. been producing dnb for a while and experiemented with some dubstep... how are you finding the transition?

tunes are sounding nice, liking the percusion, and the bass sits well in the mix, thats something im finding hard to nail at the moment.

i put a sketch of my first dub tune up on youtube if you fancy a listen

safe peeps..

rev: ay, 1/4step.. gotta get used to the lingo ;) i'll have a butch at that track you linked later... props

wooda: cheers for the listens dude, nice to see some more midlanders about! [any nights in/around town i should head to??? not been to a dubstep rave yet!...]
i'll get back on these & riposte 'properz' as i doo....
... thjinking the intro in 10000bc is far too quiet ...
have a bad habit of 1/2 doing a tune then leaving it...

native: been listening to some older dubsteps fro a few months tryin to get the score etc.... i like the darkness & spaceyness ala dnb, which is probs what grabbed me to start!
liking the almost 'freedom' of it all.... with making dnb, if it doesnt smack i dont finish it... can't be bothered to waste my time on anything cheese/liquid etc...
i was weened on reggae as a kid, so the dub/ska element of it all is right up my street
kinda just doing what i want on the dubs, no strict sub-genre bullshit etc...
just do it! etc....
[will peep your track this evenin muck... :) ]

[i'll post my 1st effort at mixing dubsteps later this week, all good except 1 mix.. lol.. brood vip.,.fuck thats a hard track to get time of... :| ]

nice one for the honest feedbacks & advice peeps..

be back in a bit...
