distorted midrange basslines and compressed synth drums ...
distorted midrange basslines and compressed synth drums ...
i feel some of the dubstep stuff around is going real nasty with all that
dist.midrangebass (vex'd) and those (over)compressed beats like techitch.
for me it needs more roots reggae snips, sampled, layered drums and a nice
bassline with not too much distortion please.
whats your pick?

On the subject of classification... something I read recently on a d&b forum which rang true, was that drum & bass has become just a tempo. There's such a wide array of styles, drum & bass is really an umbrella term for everything with a certain kick-snare pattern around 174 bpm. I see different styles emerging within the umbrella term of dubstep in this same way, producers drawing inspiration from other genres, and it's very promising.
