so say you're in a club/somewhere far from a computer and your INNA DI MIXLE wot kind of devices could u use to record the audio comin out of the mixer?

i've had a look around on t'interbizzle but i found nothing so can anyone help me out?

alternatively if i bought a video camera, do they usually have an audio input on them?

well you can either go old school and record via tape, or your best bet is to run it through a computer and record via something like soundforge, or it's free counterpart audacity

and i wouldn't have thought you'd want to record onto a video camera even if it was possible as i would have thought sound quality will be shit

I think he means as an input, not actually capturing the audio.

why would you want an audio input if you aren't recording?

Well actually... VHS is a better sounding format than casette, I remember back in the day homies used to bring a VHS deck and just hook up the audio inputs.

Or alternately, get a MiniDisc recorder - usually around $125 or so US

Or a Gemini iKey - its a lil device that allows you to record directly to an iPod or usb drive.

Casettes are nice and all, but the benifits of using some sort of digital recorder, ie a MD or iKey or other mp3 player/recorder, is not having to re-record things to your computer later on...

I used to use a minidisc player to record mixes before I had a DAW. U can connect it to your out and just hit record. Then transfer to the comp later. Also good for recording when you play out.
