I was skeptical, but my coworkers got into and now I see the use, tho I'm still not getting a lot of out of it. But then I'm a web nerd, so these things interest me.

funnily, i just attended a seminar in london tonight about social networking technologies (yes, i'm a PR, so frequent these things occasionally).

twitter was discussed in detail, which surprised me. it's really not big at all in NZ, but it seems to have really taken off in the UK. PRs and journos are even using it as a tool by which to keep track of each other. PRs 'follow' journos to see what stories they're chasing; journos look to PRs for updates on their work.

i couldn't help but feel that's taking things a bit far - but then again, these are techno times, and whatever rolls, rolls.

can't see myself signing up anytime soon though. facebook status updates are enough to keep me occupied for now. :!:

AFter using it for a few months, I now see the use. If yre using it for promotion, be smart about what you, um, tweet. Post things that relevant and interesting. Keep the noise down. Then I find it a pretty good tool both for following and for posting.

totally. these are my initial thoughts. really interestng to observe how record labels, brands, stores (like bm soho for example) are communicating directly with other tweeters (twitterers?!) about their products/info/updates. can't get much more direct than that.

I'm on the Twitters.

FYI: I do use this for both work and personal use, so I tweet more than the average person (5-10 times a day, more depending on what's going on).
