Post by spencertron » Sat Jul 19, 2008 2:09 pm

if so, are there any recordings of this show...this was about a year ago i think...and i think it was on mary anne hobbs, i could be wrong though, but it definetly happened.

i've just been listening to all me squarepusher stuff today which has prompted this. thanks for any help. :)

Maybe that was his way of describing it and not literally meaning grime? And if it was on MAH's show, it would have been her speaking, not a dude.

This does not make sense. I don't believe it happened.

you're probably right, though i never said a dude said anything, i said a broadcaster i.e. MAH or another female presenter

ah well, i must have imagined it or got me wires crossed. cheers anyway.

Have you tried looking at the radio 1 website and looking at the tracklists for the presenters ?

They go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back and if it was on radio 1 i'm sure you will find if it actually exists.
If it does then the next step is finding the recording of it.

Im pretty sure Autechre did a mix.
Same sorta lines as Squarepusher.
Doubt it had any grime in though.

ah, there's many references on the web to his breezeblock sessions. :)

i'm doubtful now though that these would have been grime or dubstep inspired.

yeh, i often wonder what people like Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Tim Exile would sound like if they produced dubstep

i remember an interview where he said he loved dubstep, but there was too many repeats or something like that.
